We cannot agree to an arrangement for payment by instalments or delay of payment once the claim for the NRK (Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation) licence fee has been transferred to us.

To avoid legal enforcement of the claim, you must pay the claim you have received in full.
That means both the main claim and the penalty charges. The penalty charges are imposed by NRK and will not be cancelled even if you pay the main claim.

Are you unable to pay the NRK licence fee now?

If you do not pay the licence fee, you will eventually receive a letter with a notice of attachment proceedings.We will then try to collect the licence fee from you through an attachment of earnings or National Insurance benefits (i.e. a deduction from your wages or benefits) or other means of enforcement (e.g. a charge on your bank account).

Do you no longer have a TV?

In such case, you must send notification of cancellation to NRK's Licensing Department in writing before a new licence period starts: Eforms for contacting NRK

If you send notice of cancellation after the licence period starts, you will have to pay for the whole period. NRK does not cancel licence fees once they have fallen due.

How are the licence periods calculated?

Licence period 1 runs from 1 January to 30 June.
Licence period 2 runs from 1 July to 31 December.

The deadline for paying is 31 January for the first licence period and 31 July for the second licence period.

If you send an appeal to us, we will forward it to NRK for consideration.
Note: Appealing does not mean that collection of the claim will be stopped. Collection of the claim will only be stopped if a decision is made that your appeal has been upheld.
