Your options
If you drive a vehicle with a permitted total gross weight of more than 3,500 kg and you are in breach of the rules relating to axle/ axle combination or total weight, the owner of the vehicle must pay an overloading penalty.
If you wish to apply for cancellation of the debt or appeal against the penalty, it is the authority that imposed the penalty that will consider your application. Enforcement of the claim will not be stopped while the application is being considered unless we are told to do so by the authority that imposed the penalty.
