Your options

If you do not pay the instalments to the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund after receiving reminders and warnings, you will receive a letter about termination of your loan. If you still do not settle your debt, you will receive a new letter from the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund informing you that it has been decided to terminate your loan.

Once the loan has been terminated, the interest on your loan will be increased by 8,75 percentage point of the entire loan. The whole student loan will then be transferred to us.

The instalments that you should have but have not paid are called a defaulted student loan. You now have to keep paying us until you have paid all the instalments you have defaulted on. The loan is then sent back to the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund for payment in accordance with the original payment plan.
